Here are some Frequently Asked Questions about our Children's Ministry. We hope this helps you know what to expect and answers your questions.  If you have more questions, please don't hesitate to contact us. You can call our office at 541-523-5182.

If I Have A Child In Nursery, What Should I Pack For Them?
When packing a diaper bag please include the following items:

  • Two or three diapers.
  • Pacifier or other items, should your child need it for security.
  • A complete change of clothes.
  • A bottle of milk, formula, juice or water (please pre-mix and label).

How Do I Check In My Child?
The main child check-in is located in the foyer straight ahead as soon as you walk into the building. To check in your child walk up to the table. Someone will be there to assist you. If you are a first time guest, you will be asked to fill out an information card. Once you are done and your children are signed into their classrooms, you and your children will get a tour of the children’s area and a brochure explaining more about our children’s area and our procedures.  All children 3rd grade and under will need to be picked up from their classroom at the end of the service. Kids will be released only to their parents unless someone else was specified on the child’s information card.

If My Child Is Upset Or Needs Me, Will I Be Contacted?
If your child or baby is upset or needs you for any reason, we will page you with our pager system. This will notify you to come see your child.

Is There A Screening Process/Background Check For Your Volunteers And staff?
Yes. We are dedicated to providing safe environments for kids with loving, caring adults. Each of our volunteers and staff have passed a background check.

What Is Your Nursery Cleaning Policy?
At Blue Mountain Baptist Church we realize it is a privilege to take care of your child and we desire to provide the cleanest environment possible. In order to do that we regularly do the following:

  • Disinfect the toys and surfaces after each worship service or event.
  • Disinfect all changing areas after each use.

When Should I Keep My Child Home?
We strive to keep our nurseries and children's areas clean and safe. In order to do this, please do not bring your child into the Nursery or any other Sunday School class with any of the following symptoms:

  • Fever of 100 degrees or above
  • Coughing or runny nose (clear fluid indicates teething, yellow fluid indicates infection)
  • Sneezing due to cold
  • Questionable rashes
  • Diarrhea
  • Red, watery eyes

What Curriculum Do You Use In The Children's Ministry?
We use The Gospel Project For Kids on Sunday mornings.  We use Grow curriculum for our preteens on Thursday nights.

If I Am Not Ready To Bring My Child Into The Nursery Or Children's Ministry, Is There A Place To Keep Them With Me? If I Need To Nurse My Baby, Is There A Place I Can Do This?
Yes! We understand that there are some circumstances where you as a parent feel more comfortable being with your child during the services. In these circumstances we would like to direct you to our Family Viewing Room (cry room). This area will give you the privacy you need to take care of your child and still participate in the service. It is located downstairs (take a right at the bottom of the stairs).
